Just hobnobbin with famous people...

I spent the weekend at the NJWP conference and while there I had the privilege of meeting the talented Mr. Walter Dean Myers. He is the author of 30+ young adult novels. In his presentation, he mentioned that he started taking his writing seriously after he had a wife to feed and then followed it up by saying and she eats a lot! The audience of 95% women naturally cracked up. After waiting in a lengthy line for his autograph, I approached him and said that I must be related to his wife. He looked at me for a moment puzzled and then I said, "I eat a lot too"!

Conferences are so motivating! Lookout Room 212 estudiantes, here I come!

My apologies for the poor quality picture.

Help! I'm Married to a Partially Dead Person!

I have so much to share, but I can't find my cord to download pictures from my camera and my *&$% phone is not working AGAIN so I can't download pictures from there either! Off to AT&T I go later today ( loud sigh). Who really needs an I-Phone anyway? Anywho, I thought I'd post an update on hubby! He's recovering nicely after his second surgery in one month. However, I'm now married to a partially dead person! And no, he isn't that old! He is now the proud owner of a costly plate, 8 screws, and cadaver bones in his neck! I try not to think about it! Too bad the screws are on the inside and not on the oustside, he could have made a perfect Frankenstein for Halloween...shhh...don't tell him I said that!

Cadaver bones...really?

He thinks he's so funny!

Hubby had to have Carpel Tunnel surgery today, so we spent the morning at The Hand Center...you know the place...the commercial of Dr. Brown with all his children. The good news is Hubby's fine and enjoying all the attention. The bad news is the poor nurses had to put up with his jokes! First, the nurse told him that his wife could join him. He then pointed to me and said, "She's not my wife. She's my girlfriend. My wife's out in the lobby." What?! Then after surgery I heard the nurse call for Donna, so I turned around and saw another lady getting up. Of course, she was about my age and I couldn't help but wonder if she too had an older sister that had a fondness for The Donna Reed Show. I'll save that for another post. Anywho, the nurse told the lady that she could sit in the chair next to Hubby's bed. The other Donna looked puzzled and hubby told the nurse, "She's not my wife but she's more than welcome to sit there!"  See what I've had to put up with for 25 years!

Praying for Haitians

With a heavy heart, I must admit I was remiss by sharing my joy while so many are sorrowful...
My prayers go out to the people of Haiti.
I know each and everyone one of you are praying fervently, but I want to share this verse that came to me only minutes ago...

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I among them.” Matt:18:20

I am uncertain why that verse was placed on my heart, but thought I'd share.

WEEKEND WITH DA BOYS!!!!

An alien spaceship has landed! Seriously ya'll, It's GINORMOUS!

The boys won the Ford 4 Man Sled Push, a pre and post game contest in front of Jerry World! They were board leaders before the game and still holding strong on our way back to the hotel! They’ve since received $25.00 gift cards to The Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop! Just think of all those poor boys and men who competed and had to go home losers all because the Cronan boys showed up! Seriously, my boys are WINNERS wherever they go! Thanks Comer for the added help!

The boys with their football buddy, Comer, and his adorable girlfriend, Jenna!

Excitement is in the air!

Cowboy fans are serious business…or not! Check out his royal blue suit!

Did someone step right out of the movie Leather Heads?!

Okay, there are some normal fans too…even though one had silver nails with blue tips!

WE WON!!!! 24 to zip, zero, nada

The only time I look small (well, sorta) is standing next to my boys!

Post game fun!

When asked about my best Christmas, it’s always been a no brainer! Our oldest was born on Dec. 20th, how could it get any better than that? Well… this Christmas was the next best thing!

Resolutions that will make you chuckle...

Today was our first day back after our winter break. I'm always entertained when reading student's resolutions, so I thought I'd share:
...get on teacher's good side (as opposed to my back side?!)
...gain two pounds of muscle ( I think soaking wet with a pocket full of pebbles, he might weigh 50 pounds!)
...be the best at monopoly (What about school?!)
...be nicer to my scissors (?!)
...get along with my brother once in awhile
...have a better personality (Yes, please work on this!)

I hope at least one brought a smile to your face!
